Boeing SCA Sunrise Departure
A modified Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA) departs Kennedy Space Center with Space Shuttle Discovery on a one-way trip to Washington D.C. April 17, 2012. The SCA is seen here making it's final pass by the Shuttle Landing Facility, escorted by a NASA T-38 jet and a NASA owned Boeing C-9 "Pathfinder" (upper right of the photo). The orbiter is now on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.

Everything worked out perfectly.....the sun coming out of the bottom of the clouds causing the semi silhouette of the subject, the chase aircraft, the water in the foreground to identify the Florida landscape near the Cape....I like it. Seeing this also reminds me how irritated all of Texas is that Houston, the place that trained, directed and is still home to most of the astronauts that flew in the Shuttle.....didn't get one for their museum. New York got one????
